750ml bottle from the lcbo, in a fancy box. This smells like i just stuck my head into a cedar shrub. Loads of green cedar, white pepper, and citrus mixed with more spice. The body and mouth feel are spot on. The finish is bitter, orange peel, pith, bitter. Notes of citrus, and more pepper come through with a strong cedar finish. Super original, impressive.

Visuel : Couleur : orangée-ambrée. Apparence : légèrement voilée.
Arôme : Houblon citrique, herbeux et légèrement épicé, boisé, malt sucré.
Goût : Entrée de bouche : Goût boisé (conifère) avec une moyenne amertume de houblon citrique, herbeux aux notes épicées et florales. Un support de malt assez sucré est également bien présent avec un léger goût d’alcool réchauffant.
En bouche : Corps : moyenne. Effervescence : moyenne. Texture : huileuse aux notes résineuses. Finale : longue, composée d’un goût plutôt amer de houblon herbeux, légèrement citrique et aux notes épicées ainsi qu’avec un goût boisé et d’alcool.

Fonefan 280215. Deep golden -orange colour with an off-white head. Aroma is cedar, wood, malt. Flavour is cedar, pepper, wood, grapefruit, malt, alcohol. Very nice and interesting beer.

Refrigerated 75 cl brown bottle poured into a glass. Aroma is spicy, medium body, medium body, low carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is spicy, woody, herbal hops, and earthy. Different, but not as hoppy as I expected.

Bottle 750ml. @ Carnival Tasting 2015, Denmark. [ As Flying Monkeys Matador Cedar Aged Double IPA ].Clear medium to dark orange color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, moderate to heavy hoppy, orange - citrus, cedar - wood, riped fruit. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, cedar, riped fruit, orange, hoppy, peppery. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. IMO: Lovely - wow cedar aroma ;D [20150228]

Bottled@fonefan. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is cedar, some mild spices, sweet malts and nice fruity hoppiness to it. Flavour is cedar, some mild toasted notes as well as floral and fruity sweetness. Really nice. Aroma is kind of smelling a cigar box.

Intensiv hopfig alkoholischer Antrunk, wenig herb. Aufdringlich holzig, zusammen mit der Süße und dem abnehmenden Hopfen merkwürdig. 8/8/6/8/9/8

Bottle, 75cl. An unclear, orange-colored beer with a dense, finger-thick off-white head. There’s lots of cedar in the aroma, with grapefruit, some black pepper hints, alcohol, resins and a malty touch. The flavor has a nice bitterness, with resins, pale malts in the back, grapefruit, freshly ground black pepper and a good dash of cedar. Alcohol too, giving a certain warmth. It’s full-bodied and pleasantly carbonated, finishing with a more evident bitterness and maltyness. I love IPA’s and a few other styles with cedar ageing, this one too. Pity it’s a retired one. 150228

Bottle thanks to Kevin. Pours orange with off white head. Nose/taste of orange peel, grapefruit peel, cedar, caramel malt and earthy grass. Finishes with strong cedar notes. Medium body.

Bottled @ ZZT 9, small sample. Hazy orange color, short head. Aroma of loads of cedar wood, slight flowery hop. Bit sweet, caramel. Bit spicy. Interesting combination, but the cedar wood overwhelms it a bit.
