Draft pour at Special Brews. Pours a dark brown with a thin filmy head. Strong, nutty malt aroma. Really smooth, easy drinking imperial here. Bit of a caramel flavor. Nutty, and a bit of roasted malt flavor. This is one of the better brown ales Iβve enjoyed. Good stuff.

Tap at Backwoods, Carson, 24/05/13. Very dark mahogony brown approaching light black with a thin tan head that clears to a swirl. Nose is roasted malt, liqourice, sugars, dark toffee - a rather uninspiring and muted nose for a 7%+ beer. Taste comprises light roast, dark sugars, touch of chocolate. Full end of medium bodied with moderate carbonation, light roasty finish. Drinkable but lacks any real depth, one dimensional and sweet with it! Would suggest this is classed as an American Strong at 7.2 % ABV !
