Named in honor of Saint Christopher, the patron of Vilnius, this beer is as dark as night. Its rich, chocolate-like color gives a sense of luxury, while the higher alcohol content encourages slow sipping to reveal all the qualities of a beer matured for 21 days. During the tasting ritual, a gentle sweetness emerges, and even the greatest skeptics won’t resist the aromatic blend of orange, cloves, and cinnamon. True gourmets and the most demanding beer enthusiasts are advised to gently warm the beer and pour it into glasses once a light foam forms. Appearance: fogged deep brown with a moderate ivory-coloured frothy head of medium retention. Aroma: caramel & toast, various spices. Taste: as described above. Light sweet. Low bitterness. Mouth feel: medium minus body, average carbonation. Overall: not impressive.

1l. Bottle from Dionizos. Alez fantastyczne, super pasuje jako alternatywa do kompotu z suszu na wigilijny stol. Pierniki, ciastka korzenne, zakazany w UE cynamon, fajnie ze jest go tu mego duzo, ciemne likiery typu jagermeister, benedictiner czy nawet odrobina czeskiej Becherovki. ale mimo likierowatego profilu nie jest meczace i alkohol doskonale ukryty. Wspaniale pasuje to piwo jako przyprawa do podlewania pieczonej perliczki. Ciemno brazowa barwa nie przepuszczajaca swiatla i spora, bardzo trwala piana, oblepiajaca szklo tak jak piora wycieraczek podczas jazdy w syberyjskiej sniezycy.

1l bottle from eBrowarium. Deep brown, almost black, with a fluffy beige head and a spicy nose. Full-bodied, malty background, molasses, honey, caramel and some chocolate, lots of chritsmasy spices such as clove and cinnamon. Shy earthy hops in the finish.

Big beige head. Clear deep dark red body. Cola nut and mint aroma with muscat notes. Sweet spicy ginger taste with nutty notes. Mid-to-light body. Mild, soft, smooth mouthfeel. Dryish spicy gingery aftertaste with raisiny notes. Lovely! Highly drinkable.

Clear medium to dark amber color with a small to average, frothy - fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, spicy, sweet malt, candy, sugary, citrus notes. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a long duration, spicy, cola, sweet malt, spices. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20150124]

Bottle @ First Official Randers Tasting. Pours clear ruby / copper brown with small off-white head. CLear aroma of spice, malt and biscuits. Sweetish flavour of malt, caramel and fruit, complemented by touches of cinnamon and cloves. Bitter aftertaste. Tastes like some ginger cookies melted in a tub of water. ABV feels clearly below wthat it says on the label. Drinkable but nothing impressive.
