Bottle. An unclear, dark amber to brown beer with a small, beige head. The aroma is very sweetish, with alcohol and some roasted malts and dried fruits. Peat hints. It’s rather sweet on the palate, warming and soft, low on carbonation. Rosted malts, peat hints and alcohol in the flavor. Full body. Lasting finish with a lot of sweetness and a good dash of alcohol. Too simple and sweet this one, but far from foul. 141219

Tap @ Rackhouse. Deep red brown appearance with a small, tan head. Very sweet malty, caramel, brown sugar, light toffee nose. Fairly thick, syrupy, dark candy sugar, thick caramel, toasty malty flavor. A little but of bitterness on the finish but overall just too sweet for my taste.

Tap at Rackhouse - pours a deep purple - fizzy, with a minimal head - fairly sweet, almost sticky, with notes of plum, raisin and toffee up front - sweetness lingers through the middle as a very mild peaty earthiness develops - a little bit of vegetal character in the mix - finishes a little spicy, with lingering earth - no noticeable alcohol - a couple of flaws, but not bad.
