The current rage in American craft brewing, a Double India Pale Ale. In our version we refer to it as an East Coast style of Imperial IPA where malt body and sweetness can be discerned with a heavy hand on hop character (unlike those West Coast brewers version of overly hopped beer). Loads of Palisades, Glacier and Mt. Hood hops are used. Original gravity of 21 degrees Plato and the hop bitterness is massive.

Draught, 8.6% @ Mad Fox Brewing Company - Glover Park Taproom, Washington, DC. Pours clear amber with airy white head. Clear aroma of hops, with notes of citrus and malt and fruity hints. Sweetish, malty flavour with estery and fruity notes and bitter, hoppy touches. Bittersweet aftertaste with lingering orangey notes. Not bad but rather sweet, even for the style.

Draft at GBBF 2013, Day 3 - London. Pours clear gold with a light, foamy cap. Juicy tropical fruits abound in the nose, stuff like pineapple and mango. Medium-big sweet flavor with ripe tropical fruits and moderate alcohol. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation and oily mouthfeel. Sweet finish with still more ripe and juicy tropical fruits, offset slightly by bitter citrus rind. Nice beer.
