Bottled@fonefan. Black colour, huge beigeish brown head. Aroma is sour old coffee, some chocolate, mild lactic notes as well as some nutmeg. Flavour is lactobacillus, sour dry wooden notes as well as some roasted notes and chocolate. Rare to get an infected German brew.

Schwarzes Bier mit leicht rötlichem Schimmer, geringe bräunliche Schaumkrone. Geruch nach viel Kaffee, Vanille und Schokolade. Geschmack sehr röstmalzig, ordentliche Portion Kaffee und Vanille, lecker!

Bügelflasche: Very deep amber, mid-sized fluffy tanned head, quite stable, leaving rings on the glass, light to moderate bitter-sourish roasty and chocolatey nose with a touch of molasses; not too dry bitter-sweet flavour, almost medium bodied; slightly lingering, dryish bitter-toasty finish with a touch of cacao powder. Chapeau, exellent new brewery…

(swing top bottle, purchased at the brewery) Dark brown, almost black coloured hue with a beige and short foamy layer. Roasty malty aroma with notes of dark chocolate and mocha. Moderately roasty bitter and slightly sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a calm carbonation. Roasty malt-character with burnt notes, chocolate and coffee; dry and roasty bitter finish with balanced notes of coffee and dark chocolate. Considering the style I´d vote for Stout instead of Sweet Stout. Likeable and uncommon brew from Lower Franconia. 11.VIII.12
