Maximus, the mythical Gladiator character, inspires strength and sweetness at the same time. This rye IPA is full-bodied, slightly sweet, with an assertive bitterness. The spicy malt character, derived from the generous use of rye malt, is beautifully balanced by the resinous and piney hop profile.

opalescent orange colour, huge, creamy ecru head, which lasts forever; aroma of pine resiny, grapefruity, marmalade, some pear and tropical fruity notes; taste of devastating pine resiny bitterness with similar notes as can be felt in the aroma and some rye bread crusty,as well as spicy-celery notes (this latter one in the aftertaste); definitely one of the best IPAs I've tasted this year
