Barrel-Aged Bangkok

On tap at Forager, pours black with a tiny brown head. Aroma has intense vanilla beans and coffee, followed by cocoa nibs, light chilies, a hint of coconut, and big bourbon. Flavour is dominated by the coffee�it�s a sort of acidic coffee but it works okay�along with bourbon and spicy chilies; the other adjuncts take a back seat. A bit too much spicy pepper for my taste, but the complexity is impressive. Oily, refined, elegant, and yet still not quite top shelf for my taste, but admittedly fantastic.
