Depanneur Peluso, Montreal 50cl ($5.50): Pours hazy whitish yellow with a large foamy white head. Aroma is yeasty, spicy, and pretty fruity as well. I don’t think I smelled as many apricots as did some other people. Aroma and taste reminded me of a light saison or a slightly funkier Belgian wit. Taste on the first sip was a little soapy, but later sips didn’t have that note as much. Very light bodied. A little bit sweet. Not much in the way of hops or any bitterness. Overall good.

50 cl bottle @ home. Bottled 31.10.2013
Aroma is rather soapy with citrus and apricot. Somewhat foamy palate. Flavour is leathery with some apricot, fruity Belgian yeast and hints of cardboard. Rather typical Belgian blonde, I expected more.

500ml bottle. Clear golden colour with huge, frothy, half-way lasting, moderately lacing, white head. Saison-like, yeasty aroma, fruity hints of orange, a herbal touch. Taste is dry, spicy and floral yeasty, a touch of coriander, a grainy touch, subtle sweetness. "Belgian" somehow in the sense of a Saison and Wit crossover. Nice.

Single bottle from a local IGA. The nose is quite yeasty. Pours a clear golden colour (gets cloudy at last pour) with a creamy, slightly warm head with great retention and loads of fluffy lace. The yeast does calm down, to smell like normal Belgian Ale yeast with notes of apples. Smooth mouthfeel, a little oily, a little creamy and a little tarty. Well-balanced between the mild grassy hops, the Belgian Ale yeast and some light fruitiness from the hints of apples and citrus. A nice representation of the style.

Pours cloudy blonde, ok head and lacing. Some coriander and floral hops. I may be trippin’ but seems slight brettamonyces. Finish is slightly sweet but well-balanced. Slick palate. Some sweet malt as well. Soft carbonation. Bottle from Delires du terroir.
