Named after a genus of cactus native to the Baja peninsula. Known for its unique & spiny shape, it lies on the ground and grows from one end while the other end dies. This migrating growth pattern inspired its scientific name “eruca”, which translates to caterpillar. Its long, sharp spines and high mescaline gives it the colloquial nickname “creeping devil”
