Black tea, some peel. Pours clear golden with decent head. Light bitter finish. Tap at Snally. Meh.

On tap at The Wandering Tortoise, pours a clear pale golden with a small white head. Aroma has plenty of the black tea leaves, subdued floral hops, and subtle pine that's buried beneath the tea. Flavour combines the piney hop goodness of a WCIPA with the earthy, bergamot character from the black tea, ultimately subduing the bitterness and hop pungency in general. The combo works well, but it's more than it's just a pleasant compromise rather than the tea elevating this.

A Frankenstein beer that brings it all together beautifully. The aroma's chock full of black tea leaves, plus pine needles, grapefruit, chalk and some tropical notes I can't quite place. The citrus and tea combine nicely in the mouth for a very punch flavour combination, with the tropical notes late.
