On tap at Hourglass Brewing - Hourglass District, pours a cloudy dark burgundy with a tiny beige head. Aroma has plenty of caramel malt, with maybe a touch of smoke in back. Flavour is much drier than expected, with lots of bready caramel t malt, light-to-moderate peat, and bready malt. I like that this is not sweet nor syrupy, yet retains a big malt punch. Well-made.

Not a bad take on the style, caramel and fruit. Sweetish but not cloying, though only barely. Medium brown color. Do I detect smoke or just imagining it?

Draft @ the brewery. Pours dark brown color with tan head. Aromas of toffee and caramel with some dark fruit. Sweet toffee and caramel flavors with some figs. Full body with minimal carbonation and a syrupy mouthfeel.
