Bottle. Nose is thick, sweet mango, hints of lime, sugar. Lovely. Taste is thick honey, brandy notes, oily fruits, toffee, spice, pine and a touch of menthol in the finish. Mouthfeel is thick and rich. It’s a very nice beer, but surprisingly not that hoppy and has more than a little barley wine to it’s presentation. Edit: this just got better as the air got to it, becoming richer and allowing the hops to emerge. Outstanding.

Bottle from Beer Central, Sheffield. Clear, orangey amber. Minimal white head. Solvent. Thick, syrupy mango. Ripe mandarin. Barley sugar. Loads going off. Taste is Turkish Delight sweet. Bitterness follows and dominates. Soft, oily, boozy palate. Finishes long, lasting, oily bitter. Still some of the sweetness at the close. A bit rough, but not necessarily in a bad way. The beer version of glue sniffing on the school field.

Keg at the Euston Tap - London. Pours mostly clear, shiny orange-gold with a creamy white head. Huge dank hop aroma with super rich ripe tropical fruits, heavy citrus fruits, light pine, bread. Medium to big sweet flavor with loads of gooey fruits, mild bitterness, papaya, mango, orange, bread, some caramel and marmalade. Full bodied with fine to average carbonation; somewhat chewy. Warming on the finish though not as much burn as you might expect given the ABV; also highly resinous, with more deep, well ripened fruits, more orange and mango, soft pine bitterness. This is damn heavy hop juice but it’s great in moderate quantities.

Keg at The Hanging Bat. Pours hazy orange-amber, small white head. Big orange aromas, cooked orange, near marmalade. Taste is more cooked orange, some herbal notes, caramel sweetness, light booze, but no burn, very light booziness for the strength. Alcohol very well integrated and balanced. Avoids generic DIPA territory very well. Unique and well done.
