Mermaids, those mysterious aquatic lovelies, have popped up all over the world in legend since 1000 BC. No scientific evidence has ever surfaced to support their existence, but we’re not ones to argue with folklore.
A light-bodied, crisp-drinking, nicely hopped lager. A heavy-handed addition of rye malt adds a mild spiciness, which is balanced by a light, fruity, floral hop aroma.

Clear golden coloured body with a thinnish off-white head. Aroma of light malt, some subdued sweetness from caramel, a touch of corn and a bit of yeast. Light-bodied; Strong grain flavours at first with the nuts, earth, light yeast and corn sweetness right behind. Aftertaste shows a little yeast, some robust grains and a bit of sweetness from honey at the tail end. Overall, a decent pils with some nice flavours, but a bit of harshness at the front to get past at the front end. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle during Happy Hour (free) at my hotel in Lower Manhattan, New York on 28-May-2016.

On tap at Burger Tap Shake DC, pours a clear dark yellow with some foamy, white head. Nose is a bit trashy, some corn, lemon, straw, cheap malt. Flavor has none of the rye I hoped for, more corn, light grist, lemon, straw, garbage. Watery finish. Woof.

BOTTLE 12 OZ. Clear golden, white frothy head. Strong citrus hops nose - orange and lemon, some honey sweetness and a hint of white bread. The taste is mostly dry with a touch of honey and a clean dry bitter finish. A very american-style pilsner.
