On tap at the brewpub. This was their seasonal and my server could only tell me that it was made with spiced rum. Pours a dark brown that borders on black with a thinnish tan head with marginal retention. The aroma is spicy and herbal. Reminds me of absinthe and anise. The taste is a roasty chocolate with earthy herbal notes to it. I don’t think there was any oak involved in this it tastes like they brewed a porter and poured some Captain Morgan into it. Medium body with fizzy carbonation and a thin watery mouthfeel. Interesting beer with some odd flavor combinations. Not something I would order often, but glad I got to try it.
