Thanks Doug!
Poured into a nonic pint glass, the appearance was a ruddy brown color with a nice finger’s worth of white to off white foamy head that dissipated at a nice pace.
The aroma starts crisp sweet to nutty malts rolling over some light bready malts. Light bitter grassy and earthy hops. Solid amount of toffee/caramel malts.
The flavor balances nicely between the roast and the sweet. Earthy and spicy hops slide underneath. Sly roasty to grassy sweet to bitter aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation leans fairly light.
Overall, pretty good brown ale, always a nice style to have this time of year.

Bottle from the brewery. Aroma is rich, roasted malts with chocolate, hints of coffee and yeasty dough. Appearance is slightly hazy, extremely dark reddish brown--almost opaque/black, with minimal creamy beige head and no lacing. Taste is moderately sweet malts with chocolate and notes of alcohol, balanced with mildly bitter coffee-like finish. Palate is medium-to-full bodied with thick texture and good, supportive carbonation that does not compete for attention. Overall, probably my favorite offering from this brewery to date. Strong and rich all around with good complexity.

Bottle thanks to Bob! Pours a hazy deep brown with a grayish brown head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has lots of bread and dark grains with a bit of raisin underlying. Flavor has earthy bread and a bit of dark grains with a light smoke and raisin

Bottle from Bert’s Pours a solid dark brown with a decent sized creamy khaki colored head that recedes slowly leaving some spotty lace. Smells of caramel, brown sugar, and milk chocolate mostly, with a hint of grassy earthy hops to counter. The flavor follows the aroma quite well. Dark sugary sweet maltiness with plenty of milk chocolate flavor. Light grassy astringency mixed in with some earthy hop is noticeable but not detrimental. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation and a sweet slick mouthfeel. Pretty nice brown ale, I look forward to trying some more from this brewery.
