Dark brown. Not much head. On the aroma, this is cinnamon, vanilla, dried peppers, quite appetizing. Sweet, nice vanilla, cinnamon, earthy peppers, sweet chocolate. Lots of balance between all the different elements. Yum.

375 ml bottle into snifter, 2016 vintage bottling. Pours opaque dark brown/black color with a 1 finger dense tan head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a light amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, maple, caramel, toffee, brown sugar, molasses, walnut, vanilla, cinnamon, pepper, oak, fudge, and toasted dark bread; with light notes of smoke, char, dark fruit, herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malt, walnuts, spices, and oak notes; with great strength. Taste of huge milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, maple, caramel, toffee, brown sugar, molasses, walnut, vanilla, cinnamon, pepper, oak, fudge, and toasted dark bread; with light notes of smoke, char, dark fruit, herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness. Light-moderate roast/char bitterness and light pepper/cinnamon spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, maple, caramel, toffee, brown sugar, molasses, walnut, vanilla, cinnamon, pepper, oak, fudge, toasted dark bread, light smoke/char, herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, walnuts, spices, and oak flavors; with an awesome roasted bitter/sweet and spice balance; with zero cloying/acrid flavors after the finish. Light dryness from roast bitterness and spiciness, lightly increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and fairly full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky, lightly slick/sticky/chalky, and slightly tannic balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 10%, with zero lingering pepper heat after the finish. Overall this is an incredible spiced imperial stout! All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, walnuts, spices, and oak flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to sip on for the big ABV. Extremely well rounded imperial stout complexity, with pretty much perfect balance of spices. Never overwhelming, but a touch more drying than Iβd prefer. A highly enjoyable offering.

Bottle @ fonefan tasting. Hazy very dark brown with a small light brown head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, caramel, heavy cinnamon, chocolate and cocoa. Flavor is quite sweet and rather bitter. Sweet and rather bitter finish with a light chili burn. Oily and soft. Would have been better with less cinnamon. 030317
