Oro Negro is a dynamic beer brimming with layers of complexity and character; our cherished Oil of Aphrodite infused with cacao nibs, vanilla beans, oak staves, habaneros, and cinnamon sticks. A staple at our bottle releases. This refined stout is filled with rich character and a touch of heat.

375 mL bottle poured, with a huge thanks to Eric for the bottle. Thanks Chris! Thick black pour with a rocky tan bubble head. Chocolate, and chili spice aroma, but mild. Thick, creamy cookie with spices. Like an oatmeal raisin cookie with a kick. Delicious. Has that lingering vanilla and cinnamon spice. Delicious beer here. I need more.

Bottle, thanks to Jeremy! Pours clear reddish black, small beige head, bubbly residual and decent lacing. Aroma is cinnamon, chili, cocoa, hazelnut, vanilla. Flavor is light sweet, medium bitter, perhaps a bit too much spice, but a good amount of chili heat. Mexican hot chocolate. A bit of nutty finish with a hint of sharpness. Body is a bit light and watery. Really interested to see how this one barrel ages, but a bit concerned that it doesnโt have the body to hold up.

12.7 oz bottle. The beer is black with a smallish light brown head. Some lacing. Bubbles dissipate after a minute or two. The aroma has a big hit of toasted malt sweetness, a mix of chocolate and caramel. Strong vanilla, moderate habanero and cinnamon. Dark chocolate milk. Taste is fairly sweet. Medium heat. Light bitterness in the finish. Lots of vanilla comes through. Heat builds some in the finish. Smooth, creamy feel. Full on the palate. Very enjoyable.

Bottle thanks to Seth. Pours a very dark brown with beige head that lasts. The aroma is strong peppers, cocoa, nuts, roast. Thick mouth, dark chocolate, roast, chili pepper, coconut, boozy finish, very good.

375 ml bottle thanks to ClarkVV 2015 vintage... Pitch black in color with off color head. Aroma starts with chili peppers, vanilla, chocolate and I swear I get cinnamon. Interesting.
Well the spice and chili spice hangs around after the sip and does balance the rich malt and cocoa nibs. The body is pretty full, decent mouthfeel. The chili / habanero shows mild heat on the tongue. If they scale back the spice just a bit it would help the overall the fell of the stout.
This was my 5000 th rating. I have a lot of people to thank for getting me here. Thanks for my local tasting group of friends and everyone who I have traded with over the years. Much love, cheers!!

375 mL bottle, 2015, a bonus from the very generous JStax, shared on 11/28/15. Thanks, Jeremy.
Very cinnamony nose may allow some graham cracker and light chocolate but itโs pretty few and far between. Some very light pepper and a touch of vanilla, says Chris. But very, very faint. No alcohol, no flaws, just way, way too much cinnamon....
Lots of cinnamon in the flavor, with a nice habanero slow burn. Sweet chocolate balances, the texture is soft and sticky and the carbonation lovely. Thereโs just way too much cinnamon. When your cinnamon dominates the habanero you have a problem. As with the Maple Bourbon, really well concealed alcohol.
