Draft taster pour at Powder Keg Beer and Chili Festival. Appearance is mildly hazy dark brown, no discernible sparkle, thin ring of beige head, fair retention. Aroma is strong caramel and bready malt, hint of chocolate. Taste is nice caramel and bread mixed with a not altogether pleasing mild fruity tartness. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with thin texture, average carbonation and finish as taste, with dry, earthy bitterness that's a little off. Overall, the aroma suggests a strong, but relatively straightforward brown ale, but the taste takes an odd turn.

Sample at the Granite State Brewfest 7/25/2015 Deep brown with faint ruby and a decent tan head. Caramel with a hint of brown sugar earth and chocolate. Nice for a brown ale.
