So, I buy this big can of blonde ale because I like blonde ale. Well, balderdash, I must of missed the word imperial because this is one big giant burst of hop bitterness in the ol’ pie-hole. Its so strong, alky apparent right up front. Brutalizing my golden blonde taste buds it is. So much personality its licking, I mean kicking, my dorsal fin. Oh my, whew. Unexpectedly tuff. Even on the nose it comes across as a little volatile. It says in the title this is 2016 but I just bought it half way thru 2017, wtf, must be old stock. That probably contributes to its stubborn nastiness. Can says 16:57:36 0265 E17661 so what’s that mean? Hey, I think I’m getting a bit dizzy near the end of the can. After a while, I think I do detect some orange in there, but, what-ev. So much personality, I think this could pass as an uncivilized domestic strong ale - fer sher. Big ass kicking beer. Did I say that already? Well, it is, what else can be said about this veggie-spice-herb beer. Big bloody (orange) mess.

On tap at magic hat brewing. Pours out a hazy copper topped with a sand head. Nose is sweet grain lots of orange peel notes and some spice. Taste is the orange peel upfront then grain and spice sweetness.

This was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a gentle hazy burnt orange to amber color with a thin finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipated at a nice pace. Thin foamy lacing here and there.
The smell starts off with some sweet Belgian sugars. A sly amount of sweet dried grassiness (the sage) comes in to make an effort to balance. Blood orange moves in sweetly.
The flavor is mainly sweet throughout the beer. Sage does make a decent effort all around to balance. Some sweet breadiness runs about. Sage-like aftertaste leads into a dry flavor.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium in body with a pretty good sessionability about it. Carbonation runs fairly light. Breadiness does hit my tongue but nothing overly done.
Overall, hey look at that, not bad here. I could see myself having this again.

Can from a Lazy Dog Light bready malt some hops I think, but a bitter spiciness that overpowers everything else in this beer. Yeah this is not a beer for me.
