Can from the source. Dark brown in color with a thin tan head that dissipates quickly. Earthy citrus and pine with hints of light fruit, dark sugar and just a whiff of chocolate and roast. Pretty well made.

Can (7/16/20--how's that for fresh?) pour in trade with Johnnnniee--thanks, John! Appearance is virtually opaque very dark brown (mahogany with light source right behind) with tons of sparkle, 3-finger width foamy beige head with poor retention and light leggy lacing. Aroma is strong pine, roasted bready malt with hint of anise. Taste is moderately strong mix of bittersweet roasted malt and piney bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with thick texture, average carbonation, surprising nice alcohol warmth (whoops, noticed on can ABV is 7.2%--on UT listed as 5.7%- D'oh!) and finish as taste. Overall, this is pretty darn good--especially because it is listed as Gluten Reduced on the label. Not the most complex thing but good strength of aroma and flavor, nice mouthfeel and decent look. Am looking forward to the Dry Stout.
