One of our most tried and true recipes. Don’t call it a comeback! We bitter with a well known super-alpha and some of the most tried and true hops in craft history. Plus, at over 100 IBUs you will not forget this beer. Expect a balanced malt backbone to soften the intense piney bitterness and floral nose. Much like Big Mother, Primordial has been an annual release since our inception. A fitting concept for an aptly named beer.

Bottle. It pours a light hazyness, golden-orange in color and with a dense, finger-thick off-white head. The aroma is very piney and grapefruity, with a maltyness in the back. Candy hints. Lots of bitterness in the mouth, with some malty sweetness joining in. Full body and a pleasant carbonation. Lasting bitter finish with grapefruit peel and resins. After a while I sort of get used to the bitterness level, but it’s too bitter anyway. 141219

Crisp amber coloured body with a great copper tint, a two centimetre tall tan head and some nice bubbles from the bottom. Aroma of crisp grapefruit, pine, hops, resin, a bunch of alcohol and some nice pineapple notes. Medium to Full-bodied; Very piney and resinous flavour body with a bright fruity note and some pungent malt - a lot of alcohol as well. Aftertaste shows resin, pine, grapefruit, malt, toffee and a hint of nuts too. Overall, a very nice Imperial IPA with tons of hop notes of all sorts of types and a deep resinous alcohol flavour at the end. Nice to try and worth sampling if you can get it! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Texas Liqour in Carlsbad, California on 19-March-2013 for US$8.99 sampled at home in New Paltz, New York on 30-March-2013.

22oz bomber pours clear copper with a near white head of foam. The aroma has a mix of thick malts, resiny hops, a bit of grapefruit and a bit of sweet citrus hard candy. The taste delivers plenty of resiny hop goodness in the form of firm pine hops and slivers of grapefruit and tangelo citrus hops. It has both resiny bitter hops and smooth hop flavor. Nice stuff.
