From a bottle, this is big and nearly black. Has some darker roasted IPA smells laced with sweet candy about it. No BO on the nose, thank you. Its fairly flat for the most part but, there is just a tad of sizzle in there. Yes, some IPA lurks in the background bit I must say its never in yer face, like many black IPA. It really comes across like a pretty civilized dark beer. Not as civilized as their silver back but pretty good for an IPA. Look, I don't like IPA so, if you do, this may just meet your expectations. For me. I thought it quite decent. There you have it.
