Small glass for 6$ at source. Dark beer. Thin creamy head. Slight sweet attractive perfumy nose. First taste is strong but not as much as the 8% would indicate. Quite reserved for its advertised attitude. Not quite as civilized as Weltenburger Kloster Asam Bock, Tröegs Troegenator Doublebock, Atwater Voodoo Vator Doppelbock or Straub Doppelbock, but in its own right, its a decent brew. Gets a little medicinal near the middle. Malt forward with dark roasty enforcing flavors. Not big on stronger dopplebocks but this is quite quafable.
