Notes of smoke, oak, and leather flow over your taste buds in every dark sip. Raisin, toffee, and date tones course throughout, along with a whisper of underlying licorice. It all culminates in a touch of minerality and a winking booziness that nods at the big 14.3% ABV.

500mL bottle, pours a dirty dark mahogany brown with an off-white head. Aroma is fairly harsh, with lots of hot peated smoke, dark dried fruits, and bready caramel malt. Flavour is slightly more cohesive, with lots of peated smoke, dark dried fruits, and bready caramel malt. A bit too yeasty and messy, and fairly harsh on the peat, but this does come together in the end. Solid enough.

500mL bottle. Pours a murky brown with a very small whiteish head. Brown sugars and a nice peated scotch character on the nose. Flavour has brown sugars, caramel, a bit bready, and a nice lacing of peated scotch. A bit rough, but overall I like it.

Capped 500 from Tavour. Pours semi-opaque dark brown with a slight but persistent tan head. Aroma of peat and malt. Full bodied. Flavor is nicely peat with some roasty/toasty malt in support. Not dry and barely avoiding sticky. Heat hardly noticeable. Extremely approachable for a peated ale. As RateBeer comes to a close, it's nice to put in an excellent ale.
