Bottle 330ml. @ home. [ As Spent Red Oat Ale ].Clear medium red - amber orange color with a large, speaking, frothy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, wood, oat, tart wood, sour malt. Flavour is moderate sweet, light acidic and bitter with a long duration, tart wood, dry, malt. Body is medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft to flat. IMO a infection but works almost okay. [20141106]

Bottle: Amber coloured with a reddish sheen, hazy, medium-sized off-White creamy head; aromatic hops - but also "fruity" signs of infection - malt and a certain acidity in the nose; bitter-sweet flavour, quite light bodied; hoppy and caramelly , but also sour finish. Possibly infected, not great...

Bottle at home. Pours a hazy, dark orange colour with a huge, creamy light beige head. Lots of tropical fruits in the aroma along with oranges, fruity hops, pine and citrus. The flavour is also fruity with slightly more citrus and pine, and the ending is dry and malty. Some cardboard. Has a slick mouth feel with some astringency. Has a nice hoppy touch all over but the flavour is a bit thin and strange in the end.

Dennoch ok!

(bottle, 33cl) Almost cloudy, dark amber colour with a big and tanned, slowly lacing foamy head. Slightly toasted and nutty malty and moderately oaty aroma with slightly sour berry-fruity notes. Moderately sour and delicately sweet flavour, light bodied with a rather tame carbonation. Sourish fruity taste with a vaguely toast-malty and delicately caramelly background; slim and sour-fruity and tart finish. Rather infected. 28.VII.14

330ml bottle. Clear, reddish, dark amber/copper colour with average to huge, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Vaguely fruity, hoppy aroma, a touch of hay, caramel malty background. Taste is minimally tart, slightly grainy, husky, minimally fruity, hints of red berries, "young plums" should yield a well matching description, a nuttily touch. Meh. Can’t decide if the tartness dates from intention or infection.

(Bottle, 0.33 l - BBE 7/14, at Vagabund, Berlin, 20140419) The beer poured dark reddish brown and almost clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had lots of butter, fruity hops and some maltiness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were hops, sweetness, caramel, malts, butter and bitterness. Aftertaste had butter, sweetness and bitterness. The combination of aromatic hops and diacetyl didn’t work at all.
