White River Saison follows the tradition of small farmhouse breweries of Wallonia. We combine malts and hops from the Belgian, French, and German countryside which then ferment with yeast captured from the wind on the slopes of Mt. Hood to create a truly unique ale that is refreshing and wonderfully complex.

On tap at Ferment, pours a clear golden blonde with a small white head. Aroma has some estery notes, rustic saison yeast, and minimal bubblegum. Flavour is reasonably dry and not overly estery, but still doesn’t express the yeast properly; it’s dry enough but under-carbed and lacking complexity. It’s okay.

Pour is a chalky yellow with a large white head. Aroma is grassy and herbal with a lot of esters. Very aromatic. Flavor is full of white pepper and yeasty esters. At only 5% abv this was a flavorful and rustic saison with plenty of things coming of the yeast used.
