Bottle. A hazy, amber colored beer topped by a small, dense, light beige colored head. The aroma has some caramel and spicy notes, with a good dash of piney and resiny hops. Grapefruit peel. It’s full bodied and lightly warming on the palate, with a pleasant carbonation level. Resins, grapefruity, spicy maltyness and some caramel in the flavor, lasting for a good while, with a fine bitterness. Quite nice this one, but I’m sure it’d be better when fresh. 141018

355ml bottle. Minimally cloudy, dark copper colour with average, thick, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, off-white to beige head. Concentrated, citrusy and slightly resinous hoppy aroma has familiar notes of grapefruit and pine, pineapple; some rye with a spicy, bready touch in the background. Taste is crisp bitter and citrusy hoppy, notes of grapefruit, orange, moderately sweet malty basis, dry and slightly spicy hints of rye; obviously some more subtle hop notes are disguised by the assertive rye.
