Reviewed from notes.
Can to lager glass.
Appearance: dark brown close to black in color with a two and a half fingers of eggshell white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: sweet wet grains, light notes of black coffee, dark bready notes, some earthiness and a light note of baker's chocolate
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas to a fine bready sweet tone with some dry earthy sweetness; finishes dry and dark bready
Texture: light to medium bodied, sessionable; some smoothness along the tongue but also a sturdy note of dryness hitting the tongue
Overall: perhaps one of the driest dark lagers done by an American brewer, I didn't mind this one, but I did have to drink a heck of a lot of water after this beer.
