Draught at the brewpub
Dark and hazy red-amber color with creamy beige head. Toffee aroma, soft and sweet, with a touch of bourbon vanilla; a bit candyish. Good structure, yet the mouthfeel is lean; sweet but not syrupy; it’s a bit too much carbonated though; it has a good malt and caramel flavor, with some toffee, mild fruity touch, very light vanilla presence; it’s well bitter, the hops provide some resins, and just some orange fruitiness; the final is bitter, but less rich than it could be.
Very good Strong Ale.

Bottle 75 cl. Pours a clear amber with an off-white head. Lovely fresh Simcoe aroma atop some caramel. Rich caramel flavours, very toffeeish with a lot of lovely aroma hops. I don’t pick up the Bourbon chips at all though. Gets a little buttery as it warms - so drink cold! Quite some late bitterness. 211113
