Hyvin tummanruskea, miltei musta olut. Vaahtoa alussa kohtalaisesti, mutta katoaa nopeasti oikeastaan kokonaan. Tuoksussa mainostettua lakritsia, kevyttä paahteisuutta ja limppuista maltaisuutta. Myös maussa lakritsia, mutta melko vetisessä muodossa. Runko todella kevyt. Etiketti tarinoineen toimi ja kivahan Kiiran kanssa oli istua alas iltaa viettämään, mutta aikamoiseen pannukakkuun tutustuminen johti.

Bottle. It pours a big, dense, beige head leaving lacings over a dark brown, unclear body. The aroma is lightly yeasty, with caramel, roasted hints, coffee notes and a little fruityness. It’s medium-bodied and fizzy on the palate, semi-dry. Some sweetness in the flavor, but it’s quite dry. Roasted malts, coffee notes and some dried fruits in the flavor, with a lasting bitterness. Not very stout-ish, if that’s intended. And not very good. 141024

330ml bottle, thanks Kauri

Pours dark brown, almost black with a massive white head. Aroma of licorice, roasted malts, spices and coffee. Taste is sweetish, roasty and carbonated with some spices and hints of licorice. Finish is smooth, watery and carbonated with mild roastiness. Okay, quite light bodied and heavily carbonated stout.

Bottle 330ml (from Jkl, #31, BB 08/2014)
Dark brown color, good beige head. Ashy, toasted, earthy-cellary aroma. Light-bodied. Some licorice, toasted maltyness, a bit cellary. Quite light. Licorice root is evident, but brew doesn’t give much else.

Bottled@HBF2014. More or less pitch black colour with not too much head. Aroma is coffee, some ripe fruits, wood and mild toffeeish notes. Flavour is toffee, some mild sugary notes along with coffee and toasted notes. A bit thin, but still enjoyable.

330ml bottle, beer gift from Hanniku, via KnutAlbert, many thanks to both of them. Tight, rocky, off-white covering. Short duration, spotty lacing to the glass. Deep rosewood coloured body. Roasted malts on the nose with hints of liquorice. Comprehensive taste character of dark malts with hints of earth, chocolate and liquorice. Mild roasted malty closure. Soft carbonated. A little thin in the mouth, otherwise rather nice (shared with Finn at a rating session in Tromsø, 24.04.2014).
