Sample at the tap room. This beer pours a brown-black color with a medium foamy beige head that dissipates gradually to a film. Patchy lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, hops and chocolate. Light to medium body with a roasty malt character, with some fruity hops and cocoa in the background. The finish is roasty with a malty aftertaste. Pretty good all around.

The beer is coffee black in color. Looks pretty clear. The head is a brownish beige. Lots of lacing, good retention, blah. The aroma is clean, lightly sweet caramel malt. There’s a gentle hop presence of sweet fruit. Knowing it’s Hull Melon going in, I can pick up on the melon but it’s a subtle flavor. Works quite well with the malt. Little to no roast character. Maybe a little chocolate. The taste starts with some caramel malt sweetness. I think there’s a little roast but it’s light. Very mild bitterness. Finishes a bit drier but still has a pleasant malt sweetness. The malt is rich and nice. Some nuttiness. Light feel. Solid beer.
