Bottled (as Black Cock). Gusher warning! Black colour with a beigeish brown huge head. Aroma is roasted malts, coffee and some mild dried fruits with a bit wooden tartness. Flavour is roasted malts, dried fruits, coffee, chocolate and a bunch of ashes. Somewhat bitter. At first hides the tart edge in the flavour, but as it warms up the tartness shows a bit too. Somekind of infection going on most likely, but not yet to the point of ruining the whole beer.

(bottle, 33cl) Quite black, tanned medium-sized foamy head. Moderately ashy and roasted malty aroma with hints of dark chocolate and coffee beans, also traces of vanilla can be found. Mildly roasted bitter flavour, light bodied with a soft carbonation. Slim and dry-ish roast-malty base with notes of instant coffee and a whiff of dark chocolate; dry and mildly roast bitter finish with some coffee flavours. Drinkable but nothing special. 07.IV.17

Bottle: Almost black, small and stable tanned head, mild to moderate dryish nose of roasted malt, ashes and coffee with a tinge of vanilla; moderate - as well - bitter flavour with a subdued malty sweetness, nearly medium bodied, surely not really smooth; drier and lingering bitter and roasty finish with traces of bitter hops and coffee. Nothing wrong with it, could just be a bit smoother...

hazy brown, smooth offwhite head. super sweet caramelly and malty aroma with weird notes of licorice, but mostly just malty sweet and caramelly sweet. some butter. Flavor is malty, herbal off flavors, taste is really bad, just like a super cheap metallic euro lager, only some more herbal malts in this one. faint citrussy notes from the hard roast. They have managed to take out all that is good in a stout and add water with rusty flavor. beer is sort of refreshing, and if blind tasted with blinders with no knowledge of style it might get a better rating from me. Not sure though. Barely drinkable

330ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Massive gusher, fills three pint glasses with foam! Interesting that it says on the label that their beers confirm to the Reinheitsgebot, but this one contains coffee and chocolate! They’ve also spelt Reinheitsgebot wrong. All of which doesn’t inspire much confidence. Once the beer calms down and is combined into one glass, it’s hazy brown, with a thin off-white head. Aromas are light coffee, taste is coffee and a light sourness. Light body, sweet finish.

Bottle 330ml. [ As Brewmeister Black Hawk ].Clear medium to dark brown color with a average to large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, fully lasting, off-white to light beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, nytty, caramel, bread, light roasted. Flavour is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration, roasted, nutty, sweet malt. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20140517]

Bottle @ Home. Pours very dark brown with a light tan head, lacings. Aroma of roasted malt, little sourness, coffee. Flavor is malts, coffee, little dark fruit, chocolate notes. Thin to medium body, lively carbonation. 051114
