Hand in Glove is Ocelot’s first English-style dark mild. At 3.8%, this little charmer will fit snuggly in the hand of anyone looking to take January a touch easier — without sacrificing flavor. It’s conservatively hopped with Michigan-grown Fuggle, a classic UK cultivar that emerges from the Midwest soil with a more pronounced fruity personality while still maintaining a restrained earthy woodiness.

But like all proper dark milds, Hand in Glove is first and foremost a showcase for malt. Naturally, we relied exclusively on grains from the incomparable Epiphany Craft Malt, starting with their Foundation base malt, then developing a luxurious depth with their Bittersweet chocolate malt, Ruby amber malt, Brewer’s Breakfast biscuity malt, and Olfaction aromatic-style malt.

Pouring a beautiful ruby brown — deep scarlet when the sun strikes it — Hand in Glove possess a wealth of rich character: sticky toffee, dried raisin, Dutch cocoa, sorghum, and toasted almond. Think of it as a gently carbed session barleywine. Or something like that.
