Pours dark brown/black with a tan head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate, coffee and floral. Taste is light to medium sweet and medium bitter with a long roasted, coffee and chocolate finish. Body is medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.

Bottle. A really dark brown beer, seemingly almost clear, with a dense, finger-thick light beige head. Some lacings. Roasted malts, some burnt down campfire, a touch of dark chocolate and something meaty, and some prunes in the aroma. It’s dry and pleasantly carbonated, perhaps a bit too much carbonation, but it’s pleasant anyway. Full to medium body. Roasted and burnt malts, some dark chocolate and prunes and a bitterness that deals easily with the remaining sweetness. Lasting finish. The best grocery store strength porter in Norway? Not sure, but it’s a really fine one. 140621
