The first beer in a collaboration series brewed by Schlafly, O’Fallon, and New Albanian is like no other beer before it. We use lots of cherry-wood smoked malt and rye in the brew, age it on oak, and then dry hopped it with lots of big American aroma hops. The combination leaves distinct floral/citrus aroma as well as lots of smoke and oak notes in the flavor that create an incredibly complex beer. Enjoy it while you can, it will be gone fast, possible never to be seen again. ABV 5.8%; IBU 45; OG 14.2

draft sample at Indiana winterfest - Pours hazy copper-orange and smells of grapefruit and earthy hops. The ample hops give it a moderately bitter (or more) flavor and there’s a slight hint of spice. Medium bodied and tasty though to me the barrel isn’t really coming through.

On tap. Poured a slightly hazy gold with an amber hue. Head was brownish. Aroma was very oaky and smokey with citrus and pine hops. Flavor was a bit unbalanced with a dominating smoky notes and underlying citrus, pine and oak with a hint of cherry.
