Serveringstemp 10-12 C.

0.5l bottle from #199. It's quite cloudy in the glass this and it has a deep dark almost bronze colored body with a small quickly gone bubbly and islandy beige top. On the nose I get dark Belgian candied sugar, faint vanilla, a little bit of dark burned caramel and some faint hints of walnuts. It has a really nice almost cloudy mouthfeel this and the carbonation level is about average. Softly burned caramel and lots of malty flavors here. Again I find a little bit of the dark candied sugar and there is also a soft trace of dark cardboard here. Gets more and more watery as you drink it. Actually not a bad Christmas beer at all, but it's most likely not something I'm considering buying again to enjoy for Christmas. 28.12.2013

Mørk brun med beige skum. Karamellukt.

Saftig. Burde være et helårsøl!

Bottle. Pours slightly hazy dark brown, with a small creamy head. Aroma is roasted caramel malts, with peat and a very pleasant smoky presence. Also lots of chocolate, some coffee, dark fruits and sugar. Medium creamy body with average carbonation. Flavour is sweet with roasted malts and peat, with caramel, sugar and molasses, dark fruits and raisins, giving a sweet syrupy finish. One of the better Norwegian Christmas beers under 4,75 % ABV.

50cl bottle from Meny, Grønland. Pours slightly hazy copper with an off-white head. Malty aroma with caramel, bread, hints of spices and hops. Light to medium sweet with pleasant bitterness in the finish. Medium to light body. Well balanced and easy to drink. One of the better Norwegian shop strength Christmas beers.

Sampled at Nærbø Ølfestival. Almost clear, dark golden/amber body with a thin off-white head. Mild fruity aroma, peaches and light malt. Flavor is a bit sweet malt, fruity and moderate bitterness. Medium body. OK and quite balanced, but not very exiting.

Bottle at Cardinal. A more or less clear one, dark amber in color and with a small, beige head. The aroma wasn’t impressive, yeast, green apples, caramel and coffee hints. Something reminiscent of higher alcohol too. Smooth in the mouth, medium body. The flavor has mostly caramel and some fruits. Both dried fruits and fresh apples. Short finish with fruityness and caramel. Not bad, better than most Norwegian store strength Christmas beer, but too dull. 101113

Lavt lysebrunt skum. Litt sjokolade i aromaen.
