"Go big or go home".

Appearance: Cloudy amber color with a small tan head. Some lacing.
Aroma: Rich plum style fruity and deep malty.
Palate: Full to medium body. Slightly sweet, and a mild bitterness. Soft carbonation.
Taste: Deep malty, mild vinous and pleasant plum fruity. Dried fruits. Well masked alcohol. But not very american barley wine. Low hop profile.
Overall impression: Really fine and nice evening sipper.

Bottled:
Pours deep amber with a mid sized head. Sweet and malty aroma with hints of toffee, marshmallows and alcohol. Thick and sticky mouth feel. Taste is sweet and has notes of caramel, toffee and alcohol; a little bit too much alcohol I think.

Smak och doft av humle, malt, karamell, torkad frukt, russin, alkohol med toner av mjölkchoklad, jord och marsipan. Fruktig, kryddig med tydlig beska. Bra balans, lagom sötma men en aning lätt i kropp och doft.

Bottled, from Systembolaget. Hazy copper colour, small head. Grapefruit and caramel lures underneath a thick blanket of fine brandy. Sweet with full body and rounded, oily mouthfeel. Heavy, but not overpowering. Good balance of caramelly malt and aromatic hops. Long bitter finish with balanced peppery heat. Flawless, but I miss a soul.

Dark amber color, clean, with small head, not persistent. Caramel aroma, some hop, maybe fruity, not convincing (6.5). Good malt and caramel flavor, but the body is too lean, and less sweet than a typical Barley Wine, it’s therefore easier to drink, nevertheless not on style; quite strong bitterness, not overwhelming, with mostly a resiny character, and not much fruits; the alcohol tickles the tongue in the end.
Good, without impressing; balanced and clean.
Probably not suitable for aging; probably better moved to another style (American Strong).

Bottle. Clear deep copper liquid with small off-white head. Aroma of citrus, pine, bread, toffee, dried fruit, raw sugar, alcohol, toast and light fruity yeast esters. Taste is light to medium sweet and medium bitter with notes of toast, alcohol, bread, citrus and toffee. Nice malt base. Medium bodied with low carbonation. Undercarbonated and a bit boozy, could use more hop punch as well. Otherwise, nice.
