A dark strong interpretation of a double bock. Full bodied with a raisiny, dark fruit, slightly roasted and chewy malt character. Lagered for two months, a smooth malt character balances the high ABV of this strong beer.

500mL bottle, pours a deep dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out toasted malt, raisins, and toffee. Flavour is along the same lines, with toffee, toasted bready malt, and raisiny dark fruit. Chewy malty palate. Well-balanced and not too sweet. Very good.

Medium beige head. Clear deep red body with ongoing carbonation. Raisiny perfumy syrupy aroma, very delicate, with spicy toffee notes. Dry-sweet spicy raisiny toffee taste with wooden herbal notes. Wonderfully delicate. Wow. Full-bodied. Mild, soft, smooth mouthfeel. Dryish raisiny chocolatey dusty caramel aftertaste with rye crisp bread, nutty, teak wood notes. Lovely, lovely flavours, melding together just right. I’m really impressed. Didn’t have high hopes for this one, but wow. (0.5l bottle, from Fish & Beer, Copenhagen. It’s been in the cellar roughly 9 months.)

Pours a copper from a bottle, aroma is of caramelly golden raisins, like some European pudding or something. Flavor adds some roasted nuts, good bitterness to counterbalance the sweet malt. Rather big mouthfeel with some good alcohol burn at the end. Good beer.

Bottle. Pretty reddish-brown color with a tall head. Nose of chocolate fudge, raisin, dried plums. Rich malt flavors, fudge, raisins, some port. Tangy fruit and soft bitterness in the finish. Full and silky, but not heavy. Lovely high-alcohol doppelbock.
