Bursting with coffee, chocolate and caramel flavours as a result of the complex malt profile. The hops complement the malt flavours for a rich & traditional porter that is smooth and well-balanced.

Intense malty-choclate in the beginning. The mainpart is a bit light, milk-chocolate, but hints of water. The aftertaste is chocolate-malty, smooth, slightly bitter.
Nice and easy to drink, and for the 4.4% ok, but could be a bit more deeper and intense. --> 11/12/11/11

Bottle 50 cl. Pours a deep, dark brown with an orange hue and a smallish, beige head. Lovely, roasty chocolate aroma. Medium body, dry roast, again a little chocolate, somewhat dusty. Decent and drinkable. 220214

Bottle @ Hanly’s Bar, Strokestown
Black, clear, ruby edges, thin tan head
Aroma of dark malts, caramel, soft mellow roast, chocolate, lots of dark caramel, dark sugars
Taste - nice smooth dark malts, chocolate, caramel, soft mellow roast, some milk sugars?, really good
Palate - Soft carb, medium body, fairly oily. Quite sweet dark malts palate. Finish very smooth, noce rich sweet dark malt lingering finish
Overall - One of the best Irish porters at it’s ABV range
Keg @ The Brew Dock, Dublin [200913] 6/3/7/3/14 3.3
Very dark brown, dark caramel edges, thin tan head
Aroma of soft roast, dark toasted malts, some bitter hop
Taste of roasted malts, dark sweet malts, some bitter hops in there, touch of molasses
Palate - Medium carb and body, bit too fizzy, Finish of dark smooth roasted malts
Overall - Must re-rate on cask or bottle...I don’t think keg dispense really suits this beer

Opaque brownish-black pour with a medium foamy tan head that recedes steadily. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast malt and chocolate. Light-bodied with a roasty character and flavors of chocolate malt, coffee and a touch of vanilla. The finish is sweet with a malty aftertaste. Decent overall.
