I think we can all agree that Metric beats Imperial. It’s just more sensible. With our Metric Beats Imperial Stout, we’ve embraced these sensibilities and brewed an Imperial Stout as balanced as 10 deciliters equaling one liter. Metric Beats Imperial is a delicious beer, with a strong, malty roastiness that brings out tones of dark chocolate and coffee, balanced by caramel notes and a complex hoppiness from a hefty dose of American hops.

(Keg at Tired Uncle’s Taproom, 20251211) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had burnt malts, coffee, liquorice and dark chocolate. Palate was full bodied and dry with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, ash, dark chocolate, coffee and bitterness. Aftertaste had burnt malts, coffee and bitterness. A tasty burnt brew light sweetness.

Opaque colour and brownish head. Toasted, coffeish aroma. Light-bodied to medium-bodied. Roasted coffee flavour. Long lingering roastyness in the aftertaste. Easy, light. With 7.8% not really imperial stout.

440ml can from KCM Tammisto, Vantaa.
Poured near black in color. Off white head.
Roasty, ashy, notes of coffee. Feels a bit light bodied though overall.
