A robust ale with a deep chestnut colour and a hint of vanilla and spice. A perfect winter warmer to compliment crisp fall air, damp and dark evenings and the occasional bright and sunny snow day.

On tap at Mariner, pours a hazy dark amber brown with a small white head. Aroma has plenty of Xmas spices—ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon—with a soft toasted bready malt base. Flavour is much the same, with tons of cinnamon and nutmeg, more sugars than expected, and toasted malt. Not much malt depth, just a spice bomb that does little for me.

On tap at Mariner. Pours clear brown with a white head. Lots of brown sugar, cloves, and nutmeg on the nose. Flavour has thin dry winter spices, a very thin malt backbone with some dry brown sugar notes. Fairly one-dimensional beer with not much base.

Poured from 473mL can. Dark mahogany brown with small beige head. Weird nutty, chocolate, caramel malt combo, with feint background spices of nutmeg and clove. Very muddled, swing and a miss.
