This Belgian-style strong golden ale showcases a variety of the ingredients and brewing methods that help differentiate Flying Fish beers. The Grand Cru is fermented at a higher temperature than our other beers adding an undercurrent of fruitiness (although there is no fruit in the beer). Very lightly filtered, the Grand Cru exhibits complex mouthfeel, strong malt flavors, a spicy hop presence and a soothing alcohol warmth, followed by a clean, dry finish. It is excellent with food as well as served by itself.

Tap at The Big Hunt, DC. Color is clear golden with small white head. Aromas and flavours: Some fruits, sweetness and malts. Simple and confused what this one is trying to be.

12 oz bottle, pours clear golden with trace of white head. Medium bodied, has yeast and hops aroma. Banana, malt, yeast and spice taste. Strong clove flavor in the finish. Not one I will buy again, but ok.

OK, just had this at puffs n stuff at the robinson mall. It a sweet volatile brew that is mouth coating and bordering on barley wine with so many barley wine attributes, whew. Volatile, dizzying. Sweet and near cloying. To call this a belgian is a mistake; needs manners if it wants to be in the same category as the BIG - O. BTW, its clear and pale like any other common brew. Misleading. Add point for the eye candy at the ol' P&F.

Heavy on the malt and not really a Belgian beer. Light spice like nutmeg but not in your face. Medium bitter finish. Amber pour with OK head and lacing. Bottle thanks to roomie.
