A big bold Imperial IPA! The clean malt plays a supporting roll to the straight up Simcoe hops through and through that give this varietal hop bomb its bang!

Hazy copper with a lasting rocky white head. Aroma is sweet malts, biscuit, toasted, a bit of fruit. Medium bodied. Flavor is toasted biscuit, cardboard, little hop flavor but a noticeable bitterness. I’m wondering if this is an old bottle but, since there is no date on the bottle there is no way of knowing. Oh well.

22oz bottle from Secret Santa
Appearance: Pours clear golden with a nice big foamy white head and lots of sticky lacing
Aroma: Floral and pine
Taste: Grapefruit, pine resin and the malts to balance the amount of hops
A nice IIPA, plenty of hops but well balanced. Crisp and clean, I wish I had another one!

Bottle from a trade with phaleslu. Pours slightly hazy orangish color with off white head. Aromas of grapefruit and caramel malts. Bitter grapefruit rind flavor with a hefty amount of sweet maltiness and some alcohol. Chewy body with moderate carbonation and a sticky mouthfeel. Thanks Peter.

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a small white head over a slightly hazy yellow body. Aroma of pine, tangerine and grassiness. Taste is tangerine, pine, grass and apricot. Quite fresh and hoppy. Creamy carbonation, low residual sugars and some alcohol.

Bomber. Pours an orangish gold with a little bit of a head and aromas of pine, mango and apple juice. Flavor has a lot of malt (apple and caramel) sweetness up front that then gives way to an herbal/medicinal pine finish. Alcohol is obvious and warming. Merry Christmas!

Bottle: Poured a clear copper color ale with a big foamy head with good retention and good lacing. Aroma consists of quite bitter and slightly citrus hops. Taste is also dominated by some citrus and bitter hops with some medium caramel malt. Full body with good carbonation and no discernable alcohol. A bit one-dimensional for sure but well done nonetheless and better then expected.

Big thanks to crizay for offering this up in a trade. Pours a clear deep gold with white head. The aroma is sticky chewy malt sweetness interestingly with even large notes of sweet pine and citrus hard candy like hops. The taste starts with smooth sweetness that quickly gets over-run by sweet pine and grapefruit hop flavor. Then toward midway the pine hop bitterness grows to overwhelm the flavor. Just as the finish approaches I get a pleasing sweet malt and pale malt mix of flavors that cut into the hops and provides some balance. As the last bit of this beer leaves the palate the taste is dominated by pine hop bitterness and slight malt sweetness. Nice IIPA.

Gold color. Flavor has abundant grapefruit and citrus, as well as malt. Flavor is nicely balanced with the malt and more hops, but not especially bitter.

Sample at the brewpub: Clear dark amber color with a thin khaki head that has good retention. Spotty lacing. Citrusy hops aroma with some spice in the background. Medium-bodied with an interesting disparity of sweet fruit and bitter hops flavor. Some pine and citrus are evident as well. The finish is bitter and lingering, although not on the level one would expect for the style, and the ABV never really shows up either. Above average, but nowhere near the caliber of the top ranking 2IPAs out there.
