Cask at The Hanging Bat. Dark brown pour, thin tan head. Chocolate and coffee through and through. Lovely.

Bottle from Valhalla’s Goat, Glasgow. Near black with a big, rocky off-white head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malts and a slight lactose tang. Flavour had more plain chocolate, a hint of fruity sweetness and a touch of ash in the finish. Very good.

Toasty malt aroma. Taste is of malt and a hint of chocolate. There’s a fruit edge to it as well. Not a lot of body but it’s quite good.

Cask (4,4%) @ O’Connell’s, Tampere. Rated on 17.01.2013
Aroma has cocoa, some hay, toffee, roasted notes, hints of sugar gooseberry bush. Flavourhas hay, toffee, roasted notes and coffee. Also distant vegetable notes. Dry finish. Really nice, I like the roastiness here.

Cask at the Bow Bar, Edinburgh - 08/12/12. Very dark mahogony brown approaching light black with a thin tan head. Nose is roast malt, light chocolate, some nuttyness. Taste comprises roast malt, touch of coffee, trace of nuts, molasses. Medium bodied, smooth on the palate, soft carbonation, dry finish. Decent cask porter.
