Brekeriet White Label
Brekeriet Breidur is a fruit beer mainly fermented with Brettanomyces yeast. Mango and apples are added during the secondary fermentation and this yeast loves fruit which is shown in the fantastic taste of the beer. Brekeriet Breidur is refermented in the bottle which gives a thin layer of yeast at the bottom of the bottle.

Bottle bought through Systembolaget. Pours hazy golden with a small fizzy offwhite head that quickly dissipates while leaving a small trace on the glass. Smell is fruity and yeasty with crackers, white bread, green apples, barnyard, lemon zest, hay, dry soil, bakers yeast and hints of pineapple and mango. Taste is tiny sweet, tiny sour, slightly malty and fruity with crackers, mixed apples, unripe mango, unripe pineapple, barnyard, dry soil, dry wood, brett, apple sauce, hay, lemon zest and hints of leather and lemon juice. Mouthfeel is crisp, dry, slightly fruity tart and light bodied. Finish is fruity with crackers, green apples, mango, pineapple, white bread, barnyard, brett and yeasty dough. Quite pleasant...

330mL bottle, bonused to me by siranselm (thanks a lot, Marcus), pours a cloudy golden with a medium white head. Aroma of brett upfront, along with secondary notes of mangos and apples. Flavour brings out loads of brett upfront, along with other Belgian yeasts, followed by apples and subtle mango notes. Quite wild and bretty, but also very light fruity. Light body and highly drinkable, with the brett dominating.

Sample at Malmö Öl & Whiskyfestival 2013. Hazy pale golden with a small white head. Soft aroma of fruit, light brett and some yeast. The taste was refreshing with notes of mango, light brett, some yeast and some citrus. Easy to drink with a light tartness.

Bottled 33 cl at Ölrepubliken on March 21, 2013BB 2015-02-11Hazy honey golden color, small white head. Sweet, yeasty scent. Sweet, light fruity, acidic, yeasty taste. Weak mouthfeel, low bitterness. Minerals.Got to chat with two of the brewers and explain while I was drinking it how I would percieve the beer in a different way and like it more, very attentive brewers and also very nice.
