Prepare to be rooted in hoppy delight with General Sherman, a towering West Coast-Style Imperial IPA that’s as mighty as awe-inspiring as its namesake.
Named after the largest tree in the world (by volume) that can be seen poking its head above the Giant Forest in California’s Sequoia National Park, General Sherman is a beer that commands attention.
Whether you are a seasoned hop-head or just looking to branch out into classic bitter IPAs, General Sherman is a must-try.
This heady beer was brewed with a blend of pale and Pilsner malts along with a touch of light crystal and flaked barley. It was hopped early and often (mash, kettle, and fermenter) with a blend of Cascade, BRU-1, and Sequoia hops.
You can expect a medium-bodied, golden ale with bold bitterness, intense hop flavor, and a long, dry, hop-accented finish.
We get notes of bright citrus (pink grapefruit, tangerine peel, lime zest), freshly cut pineapple, piney spice, pungent forest air, and undertones of tropical mango.

Tap at the brewery taproom Philadelphia. A clear deep orange coloured pour with a lasting white froth. Aroma is semi sweet, weedy hop, piney hop. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, weedy, semi sweet piney sap, grassy, mellow bitterness. Palate is semi sweet z resin, moderate carbonation. Decent. Lacks depth.

Draft at the brewery, 3/6/23. Unclear orange color, off-white head, coating / spotting lace. Lots of grapefruit and orange zest on the aroma. Drinks on the bitter side for sure. Nicely dry. Fairly smooth. Lasting finish.
