A growing South Texas tradition, La Muerta is brewed each year for Día de los Muertos in honor of our departed friends and family. A big, lush Imperial Stout, La Muerta is full of roast, smoke and chocolate flavors from an array of specialty malts that go into this garnetblack ale. Bottle @ Seabass going away party, Jan15th ’11. Courtesy of askofficerfriendly. Brune foncée, pas de mousse. Chocolaté et malte, avec fine couche de caramel. On peut y détecter un léger nez et palais de malt fumé qui est suivi par du café.

Bottle. Pours black with tan head. Very full and pleasant aroma of roasted coffee, smoked chocolate malts, vanilla and graham cracker. Initial taste of sweet raisin and vanilla gives way to coffee and chocolate malts. Light caramel and warming alcohol in the finish. Can be a bit cloying at times.

Bottle shared by Dan, thanks! Poured near black with a yellowish brown head that started at the edges and remained. Aroma was full of roasted malts with some dark grains, smoke and a bit of a leather note. Flavor was full of smoked and roasted malts with dark chocolate and a hint of leather.

On tap at RealTail Festival at Freetail. Pours a very dark brown almost black with a small tan head that quickly diminishes to nothing. The aroma is a roasted malt and chocolate. Thin mouthfeel with a rich coffee and roasted malts and a nice sweet finish. Hides the alcohol well making it easy to drink, a very impressive imperial stout from Freetail.

bottle pours black with a medium dark tan head. Aroma is toffee and espresso beans. Flavor is bakers chocolate and roasted malt with a bitter burnt caramel finish.

RBWG 2010. Pours black with tan head. Roasted malt flavor with a hint of smoke. Flavors of roasted malts, chocolate and some smokiness. Full body with mild carbonation.

22 fl oz bottle. Pours pitch black with a small tan head. Aroma is dark roasted malt and light liqourice note. Smooth and yet hardroasted malt flavoured. Dark chocolate and breadish dark malty. Smooth dark roasted malt flavoured. Lovely, mellow and with nice depths of roasted malt layers.

Bottle thanks to jkwalking05. Pours with a light brown head over a near black body. Aroma of smoke, tar, chocolate and coffee roast. Taste is chocolate and roasty with notes of leather, coffee and vanilla. Syrupy mouthfeel, light bubbles. And no Lumpy, I had no idea about the wollastonite.
