Bottle at Fastelavn Smagning 2014 @ J&C’s beer palace, Jutland Saturday Session 1 - 01/03/14. Lightly hazed dark amber/chestnut brown with a moderate beige covering. Nose is toffee, light spice, dark fruit pangs, bready aroma. Taste comprises caramel, light spice rack, yeast esters, bitter orange, fruit loaf. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Ok.

Bottle. It pours an unclear, dark copper to brown body under a small, dense, beige head. The aroma has raisins, toffee and nutty hints, with a little spiced note. Faintly vinous too, surprising for a beer at this ABV level. The flavor has nuts, toffee, raisins, dried figs. Medium body, soft carbonation and semi-dry on the palate. Nutty, caramel finish. Nothing impressive this one, but it drinks easily. 140301

Flaske fra polet, hjemme: et meget behagelig bekjentskap - mandler, kirsebær og andre mørke, fruktige toner jeg forbinder med portvin. Engelsk fruktkake også. Flaske nr. 2 skal jeg spare til neste jul!
