Brekeriet White Label
Brettlehem is a Scanian Christmas beer spiced with cloves, that gives a special character by fermentation with the mixture of different yeast strains, particularly those of the genus Brettanomyces. The beer is carbonated naturally by fermentation in the bottle which gives a thin layer of yeast sediment on the bottom.
The taste of this beer continues to develop in the bottle for a long time.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of anders37. Pours an orangey brown with a small beige head. Odd farty, yeasty, spicy nose with a chemical tang. Medium body, heavy xmas spices while the Brett adds a minerally and farty edge - sort of like band aids. Odd and not overly thrilling. May develop in a more interesting way with age. 131212

Bottle bought at Systembolaget in Malmö, December 2012. Clear dark amber with a small head. Aroma of clove, some pepper and toffee. A lot of gingerbread in the taste. Also toffee, yeast and spices. Not that much brett in this one. Really an interesting beer.

En spännande julöl med smak och doft av malt, torkad frukt, nejlika och enbär. Lätt kolsyrad, tunn kropp men med lagom söt eftersmak. Känsla av svagdricka och porter.

Bottle at VilleValla Pub. Almost clear deep copper liquid with small to medium off - white head. Aroma of barnyard, clove, pomerance, bread, biscuit and dark fruit. Taste is dry and light bitter with notes of funk and spices. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Nice twist on a Christmas beer.
